RETURN POLICY:
Our return policy is printed on each customer's receipt, and posted at the cash register. We have compared our policy to that of other stores and we feel our policy matches closely to the standard in retail. We feel our policy is fair and we will implement our policy as follows to be fair to all of our customers:
When the manufacturer of the brand allows our store to return an unwanted item to them, or has a guarantee, we pass that along to you. We do not re-sell returned shoes/items to our customers under any circumstances. That means every shoe you purchase at Arches is going out the door for the first time. We will do our best to assist you in selection of the correct fit of a shoe, but it is the customer's choice on the purchase of the shoe.
CLEARANCE: We do not accept returns or exchanges on clearance items. Our clearance items are NEW items/shoes that have been discontinued by the manufacturer, and so we mark them down. There are no exceptions.
BROOKS: 30 day wear guarantee. Some customers like the feeling of a new shoe, but others need time to allow the shoe to soften to your foot. Wear the new Brooks shoes for a while (inside and outside) as you normally would to allow your feet to get accustomed to the new feel. Returns within the 30 day time frame only. Please bring your receipt as proof of purchase at our store, but we won't need any tags or boxes.
NAOT AND BIRKENSTOCK:
These two brands "imprint" your footprint within minutes, so we cannot take them back for a return or exchange, even if they are "just worn on the carpet". The picture shows a new shoe (left) and a shoe that was tried on at home for a short time on carpet with a thin sock (right). These two brands have foam and leather that adapts to the foot quickly, and show a footprint after just a few minutes of wear. The manufacturer does not allow us to return them, so we unfortunately cannot take back Naot and Birkenstock.
TAOS: No refund. This company does not take them back from us.
DREW, SAS, XELERO, PEDORS and other therapeutic shoes:
No return or exchange. These brands do not have a return policy we can pass on to you.
PRESCRIPTION ITEMS: Custom Orthotics, other customized items or personal items (such as toe separators) will not be refunded.

OVER THE COUNTER ARCH SUPPORTS: No Refund. OTC Arch support may take up to 4 weeks to get accustomed to. We advise wearing the new item for a short time or until you begin to feel the support is uncomfortable, then remove it for the rest of the first day. Gradually add time each day until you can wear them all day. Many of our products can be adjusted (heat-molded) if you are unable to get comfortable within two to three weeks. Just make a follow up appointment come on by with your arch support and shoes. If you are a runner or athlete we advise waiting about two weeks before you run or play your sport, and first simply walk around in the support to grow accustomed to the change. Once you are used to the supports, keep in mind that they work best when worn all day, every day.
